How do I become a resident of Florida?

Q: How do I become a legal resident of Florida?

According to information from the Florida Department of Elder Affairs in order to establish residency in Florida you, "must establish a home or a permanent dwelling place and demonstrate the intent to make Florida the place of permanent legal residence." You would file a sworn statement with the Clerk of the Circuit Court as proof you intend to establish residency.
