Too many homes were built - President Bush

President Bush responding to questions in Virginia about the economy was quoted as saying;

"Well, what happened was, they overbuilt -- or we overbuilt -- built too many homes relative to the number of buyers."

President Bush predicted the housing market will remain soft until the excess inventory is gone.

Florida forms team to increase aid for economy

Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink announced the formation of a “Financial Action Team” to identify federal assistance available to our state. The team is being created to ensure Florida identifies documents and leverage all resources available as a result of the passing of the recent federal housing bill. The team will consist of members from various state organizations including the Florida Association of Realtors.

Homeless population decreases according to HUD

According to a HUD news release found here, the chronically homeless in the America dropped by nearly 12%.

The article further states that the drop can be attributed to an increase in supportive housing.
