Disabled veterans and service members can obtain housing construction grants

A change in the law that allows certain seriously injured veterans and service members to receive multiple grants for constructing or modifying homes has resulted in many new grants according to this January 4th press release from VA.

VA is helping reduce the homeless population among veterans

VA is taking steps to help reduce the amount of homeless veterans in this country including Orlando. In a VA news release dated November 8th VA acknowledged their efforts. I have included a couple of highlights from the release below.


  • There has been a 22 percent reduction in the number of homeless veterans in comparison to estimates as recent as five years ago.
  • More than $300 million in grants have been provided to local partners for homeless programs.
