Emergency unemployment compensation extension provides up to 20 additional weeks of benefits and can be applied for online according to a press release from the Agency for Workforce Innovation.
“The online application will accelerate our ability to provide these critical federal benefits to thousands of eligible unemployed workers,” said Director Lorenzo.

Florida to receive grant to assist with unemployment systems
With so many in the State of Florida collecting unemployment the Department of Labor has awarded Florida $1,573,298 in grant money to use for improving services including:
- modernizing systems
- speed up payments
- improve overall program integrity
The goal will be to strengthen the infrastructure so that those out of work can rely on collecting their unemployment money while actively searching for new employment.

Florida receives over $3 million to help residents find work
The State of Florida, Agency for Workforce Innovation has received an American Recovery and Reinvestment Act grant in the amount of $3,078,796 to be used in part for helping Florida residents find work. Press release
