Nearly 6 of 10 homes sold in Osceola during March, 2009 were bank owned homes. Statistics indicate that 248 of the reported 418 homes or 59.3% of the homes sold during March were homes owned by lenders.

The U.S. Census Bureau released a news report which updated housing estimates for states and counties.

The report for the fastest growing counties in the country from July 1, 2006- July 1, 2008 indicated that Osceola County is the 8th fastest growing county in housing units.

The Census Bureau describes a housing unit as;

" A housing unit is a house, an apartment, a mobile home or trailer, a group of rooms, or a single room that is occupied, or, if vacant, is intended for occupancy as separate living quarters. Separate living quarters are those in which the occupants live separately from any other persons in the building and which have direct access from the outside of the building or through a common hall."
