Volusia County Schools will be closed Friday, August 22 - Tropical Storm Fay

Volusia County Schools reversed its decision to open schools on Friday, August 22, due to significant flooding and power outages throughout the county and a flash flood warning in west Volusia. In addition to all Volusia schools being closed, all school activities, events and extended day programs will be cancelled. District administrative offices will also remain closed. It is anticipated schools will reopen on Monday, August 25th, depending on conditions.

Volusia County schools receive good grades

Volusia County School District which includes the Deland and Deltona schools announced that 78% of the schools in the district received an A or B on the School Accountability Report released by the Department of Education.
